Click on the links below to see details about our suggested browsers.
- Internet Explorer for Windows, version 5.5 or later
- The most popular browser up to now deserves the first place in our list.
You can download the last version for free at Microsoft site.
- Internet Explorer for Macintosh (...)
- Due to major HTML and CSS inconsistencies and to the fact that it fell
into oblivion as far as Microsoft is concerned, this browser is no longer supported or compatible
with our site.
We strongly suggest to Mac owners trying
Safari from Apple that renders the
origaNo pages impeccably. You also benefit from close integration with the OS X operating system.
- Mozilla, version 1.4 or later
- Based on the respectable Gecko engine, the Mozilla browser
contains valuable features for web developers as well as for everyday surfing.
Although Mozilla organization will boast the younger brother called
Firefox
for its lightness and conviviality, we did appreciated the elder one for its tabbed
interface allowing us to preserve simultaneously different web pages in one instance
of the navigator. Skinning and a lot of helpful panels are also provided.
You can get the last version of Mozilla at Mozilla download page or at Mozilla webpage.
- Firefox, version 0.8 or later
- Based on the respectable Gecko engine, the Firefox browser
(previously known as Firebird) has been tested in its pre-release version and we can only ascertain
the good reputation it deserves.
It's lighter and younger than its elderly brother, the
Mozilla
browser. Like the latter, it also features tabbed navigation that quickly becomes a must once you try it.
It boasts the same stability as the one conferred to its older family member, which for a beta release,
is remarkable.
Firefox is available for Windows, Linux and Macintosh OS X. You can get the last
version at Mozilla. Note, however, that at the time of our tests, the official version (1.0) was not yet available. Be patient,
it will come!
- Netscape, version 7.1 or later
- Netscape browser will finally survive to Microsoft and AOL agreement stating that the latter uses Microsoft Internet Explorer rather than Netscape in its vast network! The new Netscape is based on the same engine as Mozilla.
We suggest to everyone who uses a version prior to 7.1 from this browser and who wishes to continue using it, to update it in order to navigate on our site as well as on many others.
You can get the last version of Netscape at Netscape.
- Opera, version 7.22 or later
- Built in Norway, this browser features much functionality such as tabbed navigation and skinning.
Opera developers have also built a particular mouse manager system.
However, some pages on our site may not be available or may not render as intended as some
anomalies
do persist under this browser.
Going against other suggested browsers on our site, Opera is the only one with a fee.
For those who want it, a free version is available at
Opera.
Yet, there is a big advertisement occupying the upper right quarter of the page that will animate and change
automatically as far as there is an active Internet connection...
- Safari, version 1.0 or later
- This new browser has been conceived by Apple and is already very popular among Macintosh users.
Tests made at origaNo were eloquent enough to conclude to the well-founded of its good reputation.
You can get the last version of Safari at Apple as well as documentation.
