origaDesk Support & FAQ
The Notes Keeper/Agenda for the Aesthete
origaDesk automatically saves new or modified notes in its own data directory associated with your profile data.

Since each note is saved as HTML file, you may use your usual browser (besides origaDesk) to look at them. Please refer to What is the name of my note? heading for detail.

On Windows 2000 and XP, your origaDesk (version 1) notes figure in this directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your name]\Local Settings\Application Data\origaNo\origaDesk\1.0

On Windows 95/98/Me, your origaDesk (version 1) notes figure in this directory:

C:\WINDOWS\Local Settings\Application Data\origaNo\origaDesk\1.0
Each note is uniquely named with the associated calendar date and the creation note hour, followed by a suffix.

Thus, a note created at 15h 30m 40s that appears on December 25th, 2005 (on the calendar) will be saved in your origaDesk data directory as follows:

20051225153040_1.htm.

Take note that the _1 suffix may be different if there is more than one note for this date and time.
It's better not. If you modify your HTML notes, origaDesk may not be able to use them again. Just copy them somewhere else and modify these copies.
When you add an image in a note, origaDesk just refers to it without copying it. You may wish to use a directory for images to include in your origaDesk notes. This way, you always know where your images are and you will never accidentally modify or delete them.

You may also copy your images in your origaDesk data directory before using them.
When the notification area is active, origaDesk stays alive even if you close it. To really end origaDesk, click the Quit option of the origaDesk contextual menu in the notification area.
origaDesk uses a protection scheme specifically developed for its purpose. This protection system will not cause any damage to your system as may some commercial spyware software do.
If you own a license of origaDesk, you may copy it once on a second computer. You may also use a third copy to give to your near family (spouse, mother, father, son, daughter).

However be conscious that your activation code (license key) contains your personal data and that distributing it will reveal personal information.

Furthermore, since origaDesk license is not that expensive, we request you to buy other licenses if you need more than three installations of it.
Follow these steps to get back your origaDesk data, when you change your computer:

On your old computer:
  • Save the origaDesk data directory on an external support (diskette, cd, or else).
  • Make sure the file origaDesk.ori is also saved.
  • Save a copy of your activation code (license key) because it will be asked on your new computer.
On your new computer:
